Looking at some of the reviews, I felt disappointment. I went anyway and saw Nicole. I was experiencing some issues with gender fluidity, as well as major depression. She works with PFLAG and is very sensitive to the LGBTQ communtity's needs. She saved my life. I was at the end of my rope, and I saw her, and then Dr. Jones, and they were able to pull me out of a deep hole. I am grateful to Georgia Behvavioral and would recommend them to anyone. A++++++. I would give 100 stars if it were possible.
Beware nurse practitioner Susan Player! She prescribed a very high dosage of a drug I'd never taken before along with another medication that knocked me out completely. She then told me to leave her office on my follow up appt when I expressed my discontent with her prescriptions. For someone with severe anxiety being thrown out of her office was very traumatic not to mention unprofessional! Luckily there are others who care about patients in the office as I was followed to my car and coaxed to come back inside where I was able to see the actual Doctor Jones and he helped. Susan Player is in the wrong field!! Do not send any teens or adolescents to this woman, she will make them feel crazy, she is an antagonistic person.
Update- Dr Patel is who I was assigned to after seeing Dr Jones one time. Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable and informative and he helped me find the correct medication at a level dosage within two visits however I kept having to go in every month and when I asked him at which point will I be able to go three months without having to go in and pay the high appointment fees and within a week I received a letter from them saying they had to drop me as a patient. They are all about money apparently, do not go here for help!
I was reticent to try the providers at GBH after reading the reviews. To be perfectly honest, after trying to make an appointment with other insurance approved psychiatrist, only to discover they were not accepting new patients, I decided to give them a try. I'm very careful to research a doctors credentials before considering them, where did they go to school ?, etc. I settled on making an appointment with Katie Butler. Her resume was impressive so I was hopeful. She is GREAT! We connected very easily, she took her time asking me questions and deciding on a course of action. Today I had a follow-up with Dr Barry Jones and like Katie, he was professional and caring. He had reviewed my case as recorded with Katie three weeks earlier and asked me many additional questions, was sympathetic and laid out a course of action for me. I have depression and anxiety due to chronic pain and he was clued in to that and working with the neurologist and the medication I am taking for the chronic pain to chart a course of action. He was willing to spend as much time as needed to address any questions I had. In closing, I would suggest you give them a chance, I'm hopeful and you should be too.
This is a fabulous Medical Office. They were very attentive to our needs. Nicole is a serious, kind and caring professional that treated us with great respect. Our experience with this office was the best.
Great Place! Awesome staff! They helped me come off of a RX that another provider kept prescribing for me. Susan Player is fantastic and very endearing and Beth is very professional and welcoming every time i come in. This place saved my life and for that i am grateful!
