When ever possible, I only use UPS (never a problem) or Fed Ex (ditto).
Waited at home all day for a very important two day oackage. I received an email from the vendor at approximately 350 stating delivery was attempted 4 hours prior and no one was home. At the time the delivery was allegedly attempted, I was sitting on my sofa waiting for the package. Complete laziness and dishonesty on the part of the carrier. To make matters worse, when I called to inquire, "Sean" has put me on perpetual hold. I used to brag that the USPS was the best value in any business. Guess I won't be defending them anymore.
Not a good experience at all. I've lived in Cumming for a year and we consistently (daily) get multiple pieces of our neighbors mail, even packages. For people all over our street and the next street over! I understand the occasional mix up, but somebody is clearly not paying attention. I wish there was another company we could get our regular mail through. We also had a package of ours delivered incorrectly, took 2-2.5 weeks to resolve, daily phone calls with the promise of an update phone call at the end of the day which never happened, and then the person who incorrectly received the package was kind enough to bring it over. We are so thankful for that. The post office was no help. They need to work on accuracy, and when mistakes do happen, they need to develop a way to fix them.
This location is a perfect example of why the government can't be trusted to run any efficient operation. I would give them ZERO stars, if that were possible.
Received an email notice from Amazon that 'delivery was attempted' for a package on Saturday, 16 Jan 16 and that USPS "left a note" at 0916. No notice was left and no one came to deliver a package at our home. Instructions said to go to local post office to retrieve package. Went to Cumming location that afternoon...no package available, no information available. Was told to "come back on Monday and try to speak with your carrier". Monday, of course, is a Federal holiday and the office is closed. It just keeps getting more and more bizarre, dealing with this location.
I've had a package "Undeliverable as Addressed" after an "attempted delivery." Funny thing is, I was awake at the time the "attempted delivery" happened and I didn't hear a ring or knock on the door. And I was standing right in front of it at the time. I looked at my security cameras and not a single person came up or drove past my house at the time they claim they tried to deliver. Seeing that multiple other reviewers have had the same problem something is going on.
Update - 18 Jan 16
From "lost" mail to stolen items to ignoramuses who can't understand what "customer will pick up held mail" means, to rude carriers who hate their jobs and throw their cigarette butts in our yard to throwing our mail on the ground next to a busy highway and then driving off or to delivering our mail to the wrong address again and again to lame excuses / unbelievable excuses to an unreliable tracking system, this location reaches new lows of customer service and efficiency.
Either a postman is skipping houses or he is invisible.
Terrible experience here today. Postal employee who is assigned to the passport office is not very smart. She decided to take people who are here for postage and mailing instead of letting in the more than 35 people waiting in the passport line. This location is extremely short staffed. We asked to speak with manager, No one ever came. Sad state of reality here in USA now for government run services. Example of your hard earned tax dollars at work :(
