I have used Byars' services for two family members, over the last five years, and I have been extremely satisfied with them and with their caring help.
An elder cousin had died and a funeral was slapped together quickly which was fine and went well. He was a veteran and we sent off some stuff to the veterans office for a stone. And the papers came back incomplete so she went to Marty for help to finish the papers. The only thing he said is we don't do that here and sent her out the door. Got his money so he was done with us. Went to Ingrams down the road and they finished the paper work and everything else we needed free of charge and said come back if you need more help. I liked Marty until he done that to my grandmother. Won't be doing business there ever again.
I used Marty and Byars Funeral Home to handle the cremation of my fathers remains when he passed away in March. He handled everything from the removal, Masonic needs and procedures as well as the cremation. He did so with great caring, professionalism and respect. My father was a veteran as well as a Mason and upon removal of my father from the assisted living facility he did something that I have never seen before or heard of. As we were heading to the outside he removed the cover from my Dad’s face so that he could feel the sun on his face one last time. I thought that it was the most touching and caring thing that so had ever seen and it made my mother happy to know that he was treated that way. I will definitely use Buars Funera Home in the future and recommend them to anyone that I know.
